About AES

The Academic Enrichment Services (AES) department is organisationally situated within the Office of the Provost, and comprises the following units:
Director's Office
The Director's Office provides leadership for the department, overseeing and coordinating the development and delivery of programs which enhance the Melbourne Experience, as well as researching and reporting on the outcomes of these programs.
Careers & Employment
C&E provide services to enhance the employability of students, assist with their career development and maximise the employment opportunities available to them.
Centre for Indigenous Education
The CIE is the main focus for the recruitment of and support services to indigenous students. It provides meeting rooms, study areas, computer equipment and a resource library.
Disability Liaison Unit
The DLU has primary responsibility for facilitating the participation of students with disabilities, as well as working with all members of the University community to progress the University's commitment to equity and inclusion.
Equity & Diversity Planning
EDP is responsible for the development of the University's Equity Plan and for ongoing policy development and implementation of strategies designed to further embed equity and diversity issues into the mainstream of the University culture.
International Student Services
ISS provide advice and support to all international students and coordinate a number of programs to support international students from pre-departure right through to returning home.
Language & Learning Skills Unit
The LLSU provides learning support to students and advice to staff on issues related to learning support, ESL and academic discourse.
Leadership, Involvement & Volunteering Experience
The LIVE! unit coordinates leadership and volunteering programs at the University, focussing on not-for-credit experiences and extra-curricular opportunities for the development of graduate attributes.
Melbourne Experience Instructional Design
MEID staff support the existing AIRport and CourseWorks projects and provide specialist online development support to the other AES units.
Transition & Orientation Programs
T&OP work with faculties and services, with a brief to support the successful engagement of new students with the University at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
