What is cultural diversity?

The University of Melbourne has a culture all its own. One of the most valuable aspects of this culture is its diversity – of students and of staff. The University values cultural diversity among individuals and groups, and acknowledges that cultural diversity encompasses differences based on:

The University is committed to social harmony and cohesion.  It does not tolerate discrimination on the basis of such difference. The University encourages staff and students to aim for an environment of cultural inclusivity in behaviour and activities, where cultural differences are heard and explored and where learning from other cultures is actively sought.
