This online toolkit is intended as a resource for any staff wishing to design or refine an off campus, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) event, activity or program.
This toolkit seeks to offer guidelines and resources for the following types of Off Campus Programs:
While there are a number of terms used to describe the same type of Work Integrated Learning experience and many of these terms are used interchangeably, we have endeavoured to clarify each type of WIL (see Glossary in the 'Program Types' section in support of such off campus placements, programs or activities.)
Work Integrated Learning programs can be either for credit or not for credit, paid or unpaid. A grid showing which programs are paid, which for credit etc. is also available in the section 'Program Types'.
The 'Tips for Program Design' and 'Examples of Good Practice' seek to provide a clear and comprehensive set of operational policy and compliance procedures in support of such off campus, Work Integrated Learning programs.
If you know about good programs and more resources, we would like to hear from you.
