About Us
Mission Statement
To enhance the employability of students, assist with their career development and maximise the employment opportunities available to them.
We are a student careers service for the University of Melbourne. We aim to provide expert, up-to-date careers assistance and information to our clients in a friendly and professional manner based on principles of equity and excellence.
Our services for students include:
- Careers Online database advertising current events and employment vacancies
- a comprehensive website and Careers Resource Centre
- a range of career development and work preparation seminars and workshops (all advertised on Careers Online )
- one-to-one Resumé Review and Careers Counselling appointments
- during semester, a weekly email bulletin jobs_careers@unimelb
- a coordinated approach to graduate and vacation recruitment programs, plus liaison with employers offering immediate-start graduate full-time, part-time, casual and temporary jobs
- international employment services
- careers fairs and employer information sessions
Service Eligibility
Currently enrolled students and recent graduates (graduating within the past 12 months) are eligible for all services. Recent graduates and alumni more than 12 months out have ongoing access to Careers Online the Careers Resource Centre and the email bulletin
N.B. Requests for access to Careers Online from alumni who graduated several year ago are assessed on a case by case basis as most jobs, events and resources are targeted at current students and very recent graduates.
Postgraduate Economics and Commerce students and Postgraduate Law students are ineligible for one-to-one resumé review and careers counselling appointments and interview workshops as these services are available from their own faculties.

The University of Melbourne's Alumni Relations Program offers graduates a great range of services, including events, programs and career articles.
Alumni as employers
If you are in a position to hire a staff member, why not consider employing a University of Melbourne student or graduate? Simply go to the Careers Online Employer Log On page, register as an employer and upload details of your vacancy.
C&E are always on the lookout for employers to supervise University of Melbourne students undertaking student work placements. These projects provide students with valuable industry experience on a voluntary (unpaid) basis. If you think you have a suitable project to offer, please contact enquiries-careers@unimelb.edu.au
