Employer presentations

Videoconferencing - a great new service ideal for international employers

Information Sessions

On campus Information Sessions enable employers to inform targeted groups of students about their organisation, current employment opportunities and details about the application / selection process.

You can make use of our state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and impressive lecture theatres to achieve audience impact and attract quality applicants.

We book the lecture theatre, escort you to your venue and set up the audio-visual equipment to ensure that all runs smoothly.

You may wish to offer refreshments if you are holding an evening Information Session (this option isn’t available for lunchtime Information Sessions). Details of how to organise catering will be provided when you make a booking.

Tips for your Information Session

  1. Schedule your Information Session 1-4 weeks prior to your application closing date
  2. Include a recent graduate in your presentation as students like to hear anecdotes from peers
  3. Have a balance of male and female speakers and remind presenters to take account of the audience’s cultural and gender diversity
  4. Describe the opportunities being offered and the type of work involved
  5. Communicate your recruitment timetable, outlining the steps in the application process, closing date, interview schedule, etc.

For more information please download our tips for on-campus information sessions (97KB | PDF)

The Networking Hour

The Networking Hour is a new informal way of interacting with students to promote your graduate program and discuss the application / selection process. Conducted in an open seminar style room rather than lecture theatre, it enables you and your colleagues to circle amongst students and discuss your business and your opportunities.

The Networking Hour is available from 1 to 2pm and there is an option for catering within this time frame. Details of how to organise catering will be provided when you make a booking. Audio-visual equipment is not available.

Tips for Networking Hour

  1. Schedule your networking hour 1-4 weeks prior to your application closing date
  2. Bring a number of representatives from different areas of your organisation to allow students to find out more about the area in which they are interested.

Student societies / Coordination of employer recruitment campaigns

If you are holding a lunchtime Information Session or Networking Hour you may wish to do it in conjunction with a Student Society barbeque. Please ask us about this when you make a booking. Be aware, however, that restrictions may apply depending on the scheduling of other Information Sessions and timetabling constraints.

The following Guidelines and Procedures for Coordinating Employer Recruitment Campaigns (PDF file | 100KB) are designed to ensure effective communication and collaboration between Careers & Employment, faculty/departmental staff, student societies and employers in the coordination of employer recruitment campaigns across campus and off-shore.
