Applicant screening
Need to employ someone, but don't have the time to read through hundreds of applications? Careers & Employment can conduct a preliminary screening of applicants on your behalf.
We will promote your job opportunity to our students and/or recent graduates, receive their applications, short-list applicants (based on your selection criteria) and forward to you a selection of suitable candidates for you to interview.
Charges (all inc. GST)
The fee is determined by the number of applications screened:
| No. of applicants | Charge (inc. GST) |
|---|---|
| 0-20 | $198 |
| 21-30 | $298 |
| 31-50 | $396 |
| 51+ | $396 + $4.40 per additional applicant |
Please note these charges are set for 2007 only and may be subject to change
Process
The employer is responsible for:
- Providing Careers & Employment with an adequate job description and selection criteria
- Accepting initial enquiries from potential applicants seeking further information about the position
- Contacting the successful applicants to arrange interviews
- Advising all applicants on the outcome of the selection process. If required, on the letter advising unsuccessful applicants, the employer can provide the name of the Careers & Employment staff member to contact for feedback on their applications
Careers & Employment will advertise the vacancy on Careers Online, accept applications and then provide the employer with:
- A short-list of applicants, if not specified from the employer then 8 applicants will be forwarded
- A printed copy of the applications received for each of the 8 short-listed applicants. Where possible, this will be done within one week of the vacancy close date
- A Microsoft Excel spreadsheet containing names and contact details of all applicants
