Career Mentor Connection (CMC)

Career Mentor Connection programs support students’ transition into the workforce by linking them with mentors working in relevant industries and professions. The career mentor provides insights into the workplace, networking opportunities and exploration of career options. In addition, they may help with finding work experience and the development of career-related practical skills and confidence.

Career Mentor Connection programs are currently available for students studying:

Staff are encouraged to volunteer as mentors. They will be carefully matched with students in related specialty areas, through a structured program. Career mentors and students meet four to six times per year, and have regular email/phone contact.

The programs are supported with guidelines, newsletters and individual monitoring by CMC coordinators. There is no charge to mentors. The programs commence with an official launch in mid-April and continue to the end of the academic year in November.

Mentors can apply online at any time.

Your unit may also wish to sponsor one or more CMC programs: please contact us to negotiate a suitable arrangement!
