Policies

Both federal and state law regulate the provision of early childhood care and education. Children's Services is bound by State and Commonwealth Regulations.

Victorian state regulations provide for the operation and program of the centres, while the Commonwealth legislation oversees the funding of the Child Care Benefit program, and the operation of the National Childcare Accreditation Council. The Accreditation Council works to monitor and improve the quality of early childhood services.

The Victorian Children's Services Regulations 2009 can be found at:

Information on accreditation can be found on the NCAC web site:

The centres have developed their own operational policies in conjunction with staff and parents. The policy documents are living documents and are revised on a regular basis. Key policies are posted here, and the fully detailed policy document is on display at both centres.
