Sample imageBook Launch, 27 May 2008 from 5pm - Centre for Indigenous Education.

The Centre for Indigenous Education and Aboriginal Studies Press invites you to the launch of John Maynard's new book:
Fight for Liberty and Freedom: The Origins of Australian Aboriginal Activism.

The book will be launched by Dr Tony Birch and Gary Foley at The Centre for Indigenous Education.
The book tells the story of the Australian Aboriginal Progressive Association (AAPA), and its founder, Fred Maynard. The AAPA was the forerunner of today's Aboriginal political activism. The AAPA's demands still resonate today: Aboriginal land rights, preventing children being taken from their families, and defending Aboriginal cultural identity.
