BRUCE C HARTNETT AWARD

THE NORTHCOTE TRUST BOOK VOUCHERS

Indigenous Postgraduate Capacity Building Research Bursary

The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences is pleased to offer bursaries for Indigenous Australians for postgraduate coursework programs and or PhD research degrees to provide financial support for students of Indigenous Australian descent.

Benefits

Partial or full fee remission will be available to eligible students within coursework programs, whilst PhD candidates may receive a bursary of up to $8000.  The extent of fee remission and bursary amount will depend on the number of eligible students applying in any given year.

Duration

Students undertaking a full fee paying certificate, postgraduate diploma or masters by coursework program with the intention and potential to lead to a higher degree by research may receive the bursary for the standard duration of the course they are undertaking.  Phd candidates may only receive a bursary for the year of which they have applied. No extensions to the fee remission bursary for coursework students will be possible, whilst PhD candidates may re-apply each year.

Eligibility Criteria

Bursaries are available to Indigenous Australians.

Applicants must be planning to commence or be currently enrolled in a postgraduate program in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, University of Melbourne.

Applicants must fulfil selection criteria, and be accepted in an approved course.

Applicants must also provide written referees as a part of the application process.
