Mental Health Training Packages
For 2008, one-off reserves in the former Academic Services Division were used to fund the delivery of a program of mental health training to University staff. Training included tailored packages and modules specially developed for the University context on supporting students and staff with mental illness.
The success of this initiative has established that through the delivery of appropriate skill sets and information to large numbers of University staff, mental health training fosters cultural and attitudinal change and improves the relationship and engagement with those students and staff who experience mental health issues.
