Casual Academic Support Worker - Disability Liaison Unit Application

Academic Support Workers (ASWs) are casual staff employed by the Disability Liaison Unit to provide support to students who experience disabilities enrolled at the university. The duties of an ASW may include note taking, participation assistance, accessible format editing or scribing for exams.

Please provide with this Application:
  • Evidence of Australian work rights (i.e. a copy of: a valid Australian or NZ passport, birth certificate, citizenship certificate, valid work visa)
  • A letter that addresses the key selection criteria and outlines your reason for applying.
  • A printout of both your results and current enrolment.
  • One page of your hand written lecture notes.
  • Your current timetable specifying availability and number of hours sought.
Key Selection Criteria:
  • Currently enrolled in at least 2nd yr of a tertiary degree with at least an H2B average.
  • An understanding of inclusive practices and academic integrity.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision whilst adhering to specific guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent notetaking skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality and responsible attitude.
  • IT proficiency.
Please Note:
Successful applicants will be required to attend a compulsory training session in mid February.
