Academic Support Workers (ASWs)

Academic Support Workers are casual staff employed by the DLU to provide a range of supports (including notetaking, accessible format editing) that assist students with disabilities to participate as independently as possible in their chosen course of study.

  • Academic Support Workers are recruited annually at the commencement of each academic year.
  • Advertisements are placed through the University Careers Online web site and in other areas of the University. Most support workers are drawn from the student population.
  • Applicants are required to complete a formal Application in which they address the Key Selection Criteria.
  • Applicants should provide evidence of their results (an H2B average or above) and they should be currently enrolled in at least second year of a tertiary course.
  • Successful applicants will be required to attend a compulsory Induction Session scheduled for February 2006.
