DLU Information for Faculty HandbooksMany faculties have web and print based materials available for staff and students. The following paragraph provides a concise overview of the DLU and its services. This material can be utilised to update any University literature referencing the Disability Liaison Unit. Disability Liaison Unit (DLU)Disability is experienced when students encounter limitations to participation due to a combination of health, environmental and personal factors. Hundreds of students successfully manage their studies whilst living with a range of health conditions or impairments that influence their participation at University. The DLU provides advice, information and services (e.g. alterations to assessment, accessible formats, liaison with academic staff) to reduce the extent of disability and enable opportunities for successful participation. Students are encouraged to inform the DLU about the impact of their health condition or impairment to assist in identifying services appropriate to their individual needs.
