Personal Information
Information that you provide to Student Financial Aid is confidential and will not be disclosed beyond our service without your permission or unless permitted or required by law.
Student Loan Applications:
Only members of the Students’ Loan Fund & Bursaries Committee, Student Financial Aid staff and the Student Loans Collection Officer may have access to the information provided as part of a student loan application.
Bursary Applications:
Only members of the Students’ Loan Fund & Bursaries Committee, Student Financial Aid staff, members of the Postgraduate Bursaries Working Group and relevant faculty staff may have access to the information provided as part of a bursary application.
Our Obligation
The University of Melbourne has a statutory obligation to comply with the Information Privacy Act (VIC) 2000 and the Health Records Act (VIC) 2001 in its treatment of personal and health information regarding students.
An individual has a right to gain access to their personal information held by the University.
The University's Privacy website provides detailed information about the contact details, complaints procedures and other aspects of the University's privacy regime.
