There are costs associated with attending university, and some financial assistance which may be available to students.
Fees which apply to students studying at the University of Melbourne will depend on whether the student has a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) or a fee based place. Comprehensive information for students studying in a CSP, including information on HECS-HELP assistance, is available on the DEST website.

Although these fees are not compulsory, students are encouraged to join the Student Union, Melbourne University Sport (MUS) and, if applicable, the University of Melbourne Postgraduate Association (UMPA), to enable them to access the full Melbourne Experience.
