Student Membership Fees
Following the introduction of Voluntary Student Unionism (VSU) legislation by the Australian Government in 2006, there is no compulsory Amenities and Services Fee payable by students.
However, to access the full range of services provided by the Student Union, Melbourne University Sport (MUS) and, if applicable, the University of Melbourne Postgraduate Association (UMPA), students are encouraged to pay the annual membership or subscription fees. The fees can be paid by way of monthly direct debit or by credit card.
Details about the extensive services and programs, and membership fees, are available at:
Joining these organisations provides an opportunity for students to be involved in the full Melbourne Experience.
If a student is experiencing financial difficulties they can apply to Student Financial Aid for a short-term loan to pay the membership fees.
