Psychiatry

The Health Service provides patients with limited access to a psychiatrist. Patients eligible for Medicare or with current Overseas Student Health Cover will be bulk-billed: please ensure that you bring your card and other details to each appointment.

Making an Appointment

You will need a referral from a General Practitioner in order to see the psychiatrist. It is preferable that you see one of the General Practitioners at the Health Service if you are seeking a referral to the psychiatrist.

Arrangements for making appointments with the psychiatrist will be discussed with you when you obtain your referral from a General Practitioner at the Health Service.

Cancelling an Appointment

No cancellations will be accepted on the day of the appointment and a fee may be charged for missed appointments where there is less than 24 hour notice of cancellation.

If you have negotiated with the psychiatrist for a series of appointments you must speak directly to them before altering your appointment schedule.
