Our TeamMr Adrian BurrageManager, Student Housing Services Adrian is responsible for the overall management of all the services provided by the Housing team. He is also responsible for the development of strategies that increase the range of housing options for all students. Adrian has extensive experience in the field of youth work, particularly focusing on young people at risk. When Adrian has a spare moment he loves to windsurf or any other crazy outdoor activity - rain, hail or shine. He is also equally at home behind a camera or drum kit. Ms Anita NarayanStudent Housing Adviser (Resources & Communications) Along with providing tenancy advice to students, Anita oversees the functioning of the AccomNet housing advertisement service and coordinates the development and implementation of Student Housing Services' publications and web-based information. Anita holds Bachelor of Music / Bachelor of Teaching (Hons) degrees from the University of Melbourne. She loves having a good laugh with family and friends and relishes holidays near a beach or at the snow. Ms Barb PedersenStudent Housing Adviser (Access & Equity) The Housing Advisor (Access & Equity) provides tenancy advice, Emergency Housing for students in crisis and manages the Student Housing Access Program (SHAP). SHAP offers vacancies in University owned 'share houses' in the Carlton area. The emphasis of SHAP is to provide transitional housing to students who may experience difficulty in accessing suitable housing. Barb has much previous experience that includes working in the community sector in the area of community development, with people and families dealing with injustice, immigration and homelessness. Ms Emma CaineStudent Housing Adviser - Monday to Wednesday and alternative Thursdays Emma has recently joined the SHS team. She is available on Monday to Wednesday and every second Thursday to provide students with advice on housing options and tenancy issues. Emma also provides administrative support for the AccomNet housing advertisement service and assists in the content development of the Student Housing Services publication suite and website. Emma completed her combined Law and Arts degree at the University of Melbourne and has worked in the community legal sector. Ms Kristie LooneyStudent Housing Adviser - Monday to Thursday Kristie provides tenancy advice to students and support to the rest of the team, with particular attention to the Student Housing Access Program (SHAP). She currently works for Student Housing Services from Monday to Thursday. Kristie has recently completed a Bachelor of Social Science (International Development) from RMIT. Her previous work experience has been in the community housing sector. Mr Matthew PhillipsStudent Housing Adviser - Fridays and alternate Thursdays Matt provides students with advice on housing options and tenancy issues. He also works on specific Student Housing Services projects and provides administrative support to other members of the team. Matt is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Political Science at the University of Melbourne. He also coordinates a refugee working group that seeks to provide migration advice, advocacy and settlement support to Australia's recently resettled refugee communities. |
