Our TeamPosition vacantManager, Student Housing Services The Manager, Student Housing Services is responsible for the overall management of all the services provided by the Housing team. S/he is also responsible for the development of strategies that increase the range of affordable and appropriate housing options for all students. Ms Anita NarayanActing Manager, Student Housing Services & Along with providing tenancy advice to students, Anita oversees the functioning of the AccomNet housing advertisement service and coordinates the development and implementation of Student Housing Services' publications and web-based information. Anita holds Bachelor of Music / Bachelor of Teaching (Hons) degrees from the University of Melbourne, and has worked in a range of roles at the University since 2000. She loves having a good laugh with family and friends and relishes holidays near a beach or at the snow. Ms Barb PedersenStudent Housing Adviser (Access & Equity) The Housing Advisor (Access & Equity) provides tenancy advice, Emergency Housing for students in crisis and manages the Student Housing Access Program (SHAP). SHAP offers vacancies in University owned 'share houses' in the Carlton area. The emphasis of SHAP is to provide transitional housing to students who may experience difficulty in accessing suitable housing. Barb has much previous experience that includes working in the community sector in the area of community development, with people and families dealing with injustice, immigration and homelessness. Ms Emma CaineStudent Housing Adviser - Monday to Wednesday and alternative Thursdays Emma has recently joined the SHS team. She is available on Monday to Wednesday and every second Thursday to provide students with advice on housing options and tenancy issues. Emma also provides administrative support for the AccomNet housing advertisement service and assists in the content development of the Student Housing Services publication suite and website. Emma completed her combined Law and Arts degree at the University of Melbourne and has worked in the community legal sector. Position vacantStudent Housing Adviser - Monday to Thursday The Student Housing Adviser provides tenancy advice to students and support to the rest of the team, with particular attention to the Student Housing Access Program (SHAP). |
