Current vacancies at
student apartments & student hostels

The current shortage of housing in Melbourne's private rental market has increased the demand on student housing providers located in the city and close to the University's Parkville campus.

If you are interested in securing a student hostel room or student apartment, you should contact housing providers no later than one month before Orientation commences. As an indication of demand on the student housing sector, in the lead-up to Semester One 2008, most student housing providers were full by the end of January 2008.

Student housing providers have advised that there will be limited availability for Semester Two 2008.

To make things easier for you, we will try to ensure that all vacancies are listed on the AccomNet housing advertisement service.

It is your responsibility to contact student housing providers directly to query available options and to organise your housing.

Always ensure that you understand the terms and conditions of a tenancy agreement or contract.

These documents are legally binding and if you change your mind later there will probably be financial penalties. If you are unsure about anything, ask us for advice before you sign documents.

A location map and list of student housing providers is provided in our publication titled 'Student Housing Options: Information & Location Guide'. Check out our Publications page if you would like to download a copy.

Disclaimer: Please note that the onus of responsibility is with each student to assess all housing options listed on this website as suitable for their needs. Any arrangements, financial or otherwise, are strictly between the student and the share household/landlord/agent/agency.
