When Should I Arrive in Melbourne?
The University recommends that international students reserve a plane ticket as early as possible and arrive a few weeks prior to Academic Advice Day which begins enrolment and orientation*. Arriving early allows you time to recover from the plane trip, arrange suitable accommodation and participate in enrolment and orientation events.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the current low vacancy rate in Melbourne’s rental market, students are encouraged to secure housing as early as possible.
*Early commencement:
Some students undertaking courses in the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences or the Victorian College of the Arts may have different course commencement dates. These students will be notified directly of the appropriate dates of arrival in Melbourne.
Study Abroad or Exchange students participating in Melbourne Welcome will need to ensure they arrive by the start of the program.
