Getting Involved
The best way to meet people and form new and lasting friendships is to become involved. All Study Abroad and Exchange students are encouraged to join a club, society or sports team, not only to meet new people but to take time away from a hectic study schedule.
Clubs and Societies
There are over 120 clubs on campus, covering a range of interests from the Simpson’s Appreciation Society, Chocolate Lovers and African Drumming. Learn more about Clubs and Societies here:

Study Abroad and Exchange students are encouraged to join the Melbourne University Student Exchange club (MUSEX). MUSEX supports integration of visiting students with Melbourne students who have returned from Exchange, are about to go on Exchange and any other interested local students. Activities include regular BBQ’s, dinners, quiz nights, parties, picnic and plenty more!
International Student Outdoors Program (ISOP)
For those students keen to learn more about Australia, the International Students Outdoors Program offers SAEX students the opportunity to participate in a range of extra-curricular field trips. Ranging from one day to two weeks, fieldtrips operate throughout the year and provide unique experiences to areas of natural beauty and cultural significance throughout Australia.
Staff from this Program will provide more information and take bookings during the Orientation and Enrolment Program. For information on trips, dates and booking, please visit the ISOP website.
