  1. My son/daughter is living with an approved relative in Melbourne. Can he/she still participate in the Under 18 Supervision Program?
If the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has approved your son or daughter’s care arrangements (options 1 or 2), your son/daughter is not required to participate in the Under 18 Supervision Program. However, any international student aged under 18 and studying at the University of Melbourne is eligible to participate if they would like to access additional support.

  2. My son/daughter is living at a University of Melbourne residential college. Can he/she still participate in the Under 18 Supervision Program?
If your son or daughter is living at a University residential college (option 3a), your son/daughter is not required to participate in the Under 18 Supervision Program. However, any international student under 18 years of age and studying at the University of Melbourne is eligible to participate if they would like to access additional support.

  3. My visa expires on January 31 2009. I would like to extend my visa onshore.  Is there any way that the Under 18 care arrangements could begin earlier, so that I can return to Australia to extend my visa?
International Student Services (ISS) will consider earlier commencement of the Under 18 Supervision Program in special circumstances. Please contact the ISS Under 18 Coordinator via email on iss-under18@unimelb.edu.au for further advice and information.

  4. My preferred housing option is not included on the pre-approved housing list. I really want to stay there. What can I do?
ISS staff can assess a housing option that is not on the pre-approved list, for an additional fee. Please include the details of your preferred housing option on the application form for the Under 18 Supervision Program. Please contact the ISS Under 18 Coordinator via email on iss-under18@unimelb.edu.au for further advice and information.
