LIVE Unit Manager

Debra has worked in the tertiary sector for over 15 years and has recently returned to the University of Melbourne after a secondment with DEST.

Prior to Melbourne, Debra lectured primarily in the social sciences at James Cook University in Cairns. She has held positions at Central Queensland University as a lecturer and Academic Advisor. Before her academic career, Debra worked in the field of aquaculture. Debra likes to go bush and travel back home to far north Queensland.

Rita Manessis

SALP Program Coordinator

Rita has coordinated SALP over the last 5 years and brings a passion for community volunteering as well as a wealth of experience managing student programs. Rita also worked for 18 months as an educator in Pakistan as an Australian Volunteer Abroad.

Rita assists students in identifying and completing their leadership and volunteering aims through SALP and works with University staff and external organisations to devise, further develop and coordinate the program. Rita enjoys spending time with family and friends discussing politics and current affairs.

Volunteer Coordinator

Ali joined the LIVE team in 2008 and brings a passion for volunteering in the community and a wealth of experience in community engagement and diversity.

Ali has extensive experience in community services working alongside volunteers; he has coordinated volunteering and mentoring programs, worked as an employment consultant with long term unemployed and taught in a range of community schools. Away from it all, Ali likes to spend time with his family, trying to keep up with his four young boys, keeping fit and taking time out to enjoy nature and the outdoors.

Theresa Li

LIVE Systems & Projects Officer

Theresa has worked on several programs at the University of Melbourne, including Career Mentor Connection, Student Work Placements and SALP. Theresa's background is rich and diverse. Her previous experiences range from working as an employment and careers consultant, managing projects as a business analyst and coordinating the SALP program.

Theresa supports students, University staff and community organisations by coordinating LIVE projects and events and managing the LIVE website and Volunteers Online facility. Theresa enjoys rollerblading, spending time outdoors and travelling the globe.
