Student Ambassador Leadership Program
The Student Ambassador Leadership Program (SALP) is an extra-curricular program which provides opportunities for young people to create networks and develop their qualities and skills via active engagement within the University and volunteering within the wider community.
SALP aims to:
- challenge students to realise their goals and explore new ideas
- create supportive networks that aid students in their endeavours
- promote and support volunteerism amongst students
- empower students with a variety of valuable skills
- establish projects that address needs in the University and community
- foster positive relationships between University staff and students
"SALP changed my life! It gave me the confidence to go out and make a difference, knowing that there was a team of people to support me and give advice along the way. The program does not open doors for you; it gives you the confidence to find the doors and open them yourself." Kristen Berean, Student Ambassador
"The SALPers that I have worked with have shown enthusiasm, forward thinking, friendliness and a professional attitude to the tasks required of them. They are an asset to the University." Bianca Charleston, International Student Services
"To date, I have found all SALP volunteers to be excellent and reliable contributors to St. Vincent's Hospital. They have contributed to holistic patient care and demonstrated a great appreciation of social responsibility." Anne Franzi-Ford, St. Vincent's Hospital Melbourne
