Commonwealth Scholarships
The University will continue to administer payments of Commonwealth Education Costs and National Priority Scholarships and Commonwealth Accommodation and National Accommodation Scholarships to current recipients following the implementation of the Government’s new Commonwealth Scholarships scheme in 2010. The delivery of Commonwealth Scholarships to indigenous students will continue to be administered by the University.

Melbourne Access Scholarships
In 2010, payments will be made on Friday 2nd April and Friday 3rd September.Please refer to your offer letter for amounts. #If you are in receipt of Centrelink benefits, the Melbourne Access Scholarship amount is considered as income and must be declared. Commonwealth Scholarships are not considered as income by Centrelink.

Why have I not received my scholarship payment?
- You may have provided incomplete or incorrect bank details
- You may not have a confirmed enrolment. You can check your current status on the Student Portal.
- You may have been placed on leave from your scholarship due to your part-time enrolment status. You can check your current status on the Student Portal.
- You have not submitted a Variation Form notifying us of your return from leave
- Your scholarship end date has passed.
Why do I have fees owing when I have a 100% fee remission scholarship?

How will my scholarship be paid?
The University deposits scholarship/studentship payments into your nominated Australian bank account.
How much will I be paid?
The amount you will receive and the date the allowance will be paid is detailed in your offer or check online for your scholarship.
How do I commence my scholarship payments?
Once you have accepted your scholarship, payments can only commence once:
- your enrolment in the course for which the scholarship has been awarded is confirmed. Confirmed enrolment means that all requirements have been met at Enrolment Management Services
- you have submitted a completed banking details form to the Scholarships Office. You must provide an accurate 6-digit BSB and account number on the form. Scholarship payments can only be made if the banking details you have provided are clear, accurate and complete.
- students enrolled part-time must complete an Australian Taxation Office Tax File Number Declaration form. This form can be obtained at the Scholarships Office.
Which enrolment variations can affect my scholarship payments?
You must inform the Scholarships Office of any variations you make to your enrolment so that accurate and timely scholarship payments are maintained. Leave of absence, enrolment status, course transfers and withdrawal from subjects can affect your scholarship payments. All forms detailing variations must be submitted during the re-enrolment period and prior to the commencement of the relevant semester. Failure to submit forms by this date will result in you not receiving a scholarship payment or, if the scholarship has been overpaid, you will be required to reimburse the University. Can scholarships be paid in advance of the pay date?
No, the Scholarships Office cannot issue payments in advance or at any time other than the pay dates specified in the scholarship offer and conditions. If you require financial assistance before the next scholarship pay date, please contact Student Financial Aid.
How do I change my bank account details?
You need to complete a Change of Bank Details form and submit it to the MS0 prior to the payment cut-off date.
