Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program
Students entering their second year of any undergraduate degree at The University of Melbourne in 2008 are invited to apply for the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program.
The program recognises the outstanding achievements of 150 of the most accomplished students globally.
Benefits
Each Global Leader is awarded US$3,000. Seventy five of the Global Leaders (including three Australians) will also be selected to represent the group at the Global Leadership Institute in New York City in July 2008.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
- Have distinguished themselves as leaders in their community or school
- Have high academic standing as demonstrated by grades received in the final year of secondary school and first year in college or university
- Eligible candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.4/4.0 or equivalent, or be in the top 10% of his/her class
- Be full-time students in the second year of an undergraduate degree program at the time of the application deadline and initial selection
- Have attended a post-secondary institution for no more than two years
- Be pursuing their first undergraduate degree (all fields of study accepted)
- Demonstrate competency in spoken and written English

To be considered for the program, students must supply the following documents:

- 500 word essay on “your vision for the future, what you want to do to change the world, the values that underpin your like and the career you plan to pursue”
Applications must be received by the Undergraduate & Graduate Coursework Scholarships Office no later than 5.00pm Wednesday 5 March 2008.
