The Arno Herpe Bequest
The Arno Herpe Memorial Scholarship was established from the Arno Herpe Memorial Foundation with the aim of assisting and encouraging students at the University of Melbourne who are descendents of people Indigenous to the South Pacific area, including Australia and New Zealand.
Scholarships will be awarded to students who are enrolled in or who have accepted an offer of a place at the University of Melbourne. The scholarship is awarded for the duration of the course, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Number
The number of scholarships available is determined by the funds available.
Eligibility
Applicants must :
- satisfy the Committee that they are descendent from Indigenous peoples of the South Pacific area, including Australia and New Zealand. Applicants will need to provide documentary evidence of their Indigenous status,
- be an undergraduate or postgraduate student who is enrolled full-time at the University of Melbourne. This includes students in Graduate entry programs commencing in 2008. A full-time enrolment is at least 37.5 points each semester,
- be able to demonstrate academic success (for Research Higher degree students, a supervisor’s report will be required)
- be able to demonstrate financial need.

Retention
Retention is dependent on students remaining enrolled fulltime and meeting the academic progress requirements of their course.
