Eligibility
Applicants must:
- be admitted to the Bachelor of Biomedicine or the Bachelor of Dental Science through Access Melbourne
- choose to reside at one of The University of Melbourne or affiliated residential colleges
Awards are based on consideration of the following Access Melbourne categories:

Selection is based on academic merit and the documented disadvantage associated with the equity categories listed above in the Eligibility section.
Application process
Applicants wishing to be considered for a PSA Residential Scholarship must
- submit an application for Special Entry Access Schemes (SEAS) online at VTAC from 3 August. Students who are eligible and have applied for SEAS will be eligible for consideration for the PSA Medical/Dental Scholarships. No separate scholarship application is required; and
- apply for a place in the residential college(s) of your choice.
Timeline
SEAS applications for 2010 close on 9 October 2009.
Outcome
Students who are awarded a PSA Medical/Dental Scholarship will be notified of the scholarship offer by mail in January after course offers have been made.
Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified.
Deferring your scholarship
- If you want to defer your scholarship, you must first check with your faculty regarding their course place deferral policy.
- You will only be permitted to defer your scholarship if you are permitted to defer your course place. Go to www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/ugrad/offer/deferpolicy for up-to-date information.
- If you are approved by your faculty to defer your course place, you must first accept the scholarship offer before you submit a request to defer the start date of your scholarship for one year
- deferment of this scholarship is also subject to the approval of the Victorian Medical Insurance Agency. Students wishing to defer should send a request in writing to the Undergraduate and Graduate Coursework Scholarships Office citing the reasons for their request to defer for one year.
