Academic Progress Review of Scholarship Recipients
From Semester 1 2008, the Melbourne Scholarships Office will review the academic progress requirements of National and National Medicine Scholarship recipients.
If you hold a different type of scholarship and you fail a subject , we will be guided by advice from your Student Centre. If your enrolment is suspended you will automatically be placed on leave from your scholarship for a period corresponding with your suspension. If your enrolment is terminated your scholarship will be discontinued.
National and National Medicine Scholarships
National and National Medicine Scholarship recipients are expected to pass all subjects in their first year and achieve at least a 70% average in the second and subsequent years of their course.
If you do not meet the requirements of your scholarship, you will be given the opportunity to explain in writing any circumstances which you feel have affected your academic performance. Your submission will be presented to the Chair of the Undergraduate and Graduate Coursework Scholarships Sub-Committee for review.
You will receive formal notification of the outcome of the review. Likely outcomes include:
- retaining the scholarship on the condition that you meet all future academic progress requirements
- the scholarship being suspended only while you repeat failed subjects and get back on track with your course.
