The University has awarded over 280 International Undergraduate Scholarships to students from a variety of countries and schools. No application is required; you will automatically be considered.

- up to 10 x 50% fee remission scholarships
- up to 10 x 100% fee remission scholarships
are awarded annually.
Benefits
The scholarship provides
- a 50% remission from tuition fees for the normal duration of an undergraduate course OR
- 100% remission from tuition fees for the normal duration of an undergraduate course.
Please note this scholarship covers tuition fees only. It does not cover extra costs such as Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
Eligibility
Eligible students must:
- be a citizen of a country other than Australia. Australian permanent residents and New Zealand citizens are not eligible
- not be receiving any other tuition scholarship
- receive an unconditional offer of a place in a New Generation* undergraduate course, or the Bachelor of Engineering.

Selection
Selection is based on academic merit. If students are undertaking an Australian Year 12 program or International Baccalaureate (IB), they will be considered on the basis of their VTAC course application. If they did not apply through VTAC they will still be considered as long as they applied directly to the University of Melbourne.
There are three selection rounds annually, based on when results are released:

Application process
No scholarship application is required. Having submitted a course application, all eligible students will automatically be considered and ranked against other international applicants on the basis of academic merit.

Successful students will be notified:

Unsuccessful candidates will not be notified.
Deferring your scholarship
- If you want to defer your scholarship, you must first confirm that deferrals are permitted in your course.
- You will only be permitted to defer your scholarship if you are permitted to defer your course place. Go to www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/courses/deferpolicy for up-to-date information.
- If you are approved by your faculty to defer your course place, you must first accept the scholarship offer before you submit a request to defer the start date of your scholarship for one year.
