Timetabling Office

Our primary role is to administer the scheduling of University classes into suitable locations and timeslots, taking student clashes, equipment needs, staff availability and departmental preferences into consideration whilst doing so.

We are responsible for the construction of the timetable database, the collection of timetable information from departments on how classes should be scheduled, and the day to day management of the timetable once scheduling is complete.
Where problems arise through class clashes or changes to teaching staff, we are responsible for providing departments with alternatives for their teaching program.

Our office publishes the University Timetable in a variety of formats, for use by students, academics and general staff, and also produces space utilisation reports on request.
We are also responsible for the administration of the Syllabus Plus timetabling program, through which the class timetable and bookings of the University's central teaching spaces are managed. Our office provides training in the Syllabus Plus program for users across the University.
