Timetable Timelines for the Production of the 2010 University of Melbourne Timetable

Every year the Timetable Office publishes a timeline for the production of the following year's timetable. This includes all relevant dates for data collection and publishing dates.

PREPARATION OF DATA COLLECTION SYSTEMS

  • Development of new Data Collection System
  • Preparation of training documentation

Advise Teaching Staff to consider how subjects should be taught next year.

Start collecting information where possible.

Consider how subjects should be taught next year.

Start liaising with Timetable contacts to relate how subjects should be taught next year

TRAINING FOR DEPARTMENT CONTACTS

  • Training of Departmental Contacts in updated Timetable Data Collection System

Attend a Training Session (Sign up in Themis).

 

Mon 15 Jun to Fri 24 Jul

DATA COLLECTION FROM DEPARTMENTS

  • Activity Templates
  • Student Sets
  • Staff Unavailability

Collect Timetabling Information from relevant Teaching Staff and enter into Timetabling Data collection systems.

Liaise with Timetable contacts to relate how subjects should be taught next year. Provide your unavailability during the teaching period.

DATA COLLECTION FROM DEPARTMENTS DEADLINE

Ensure that all information in entered by this date

Ensure that all information is related to timetable contact well in advance of this date.

Mon 27 Jul

SYLLABUS PLUS TIMETABLING DATABASE CONSTRUCTION AND SCHEDULING

  • The Timetable Office schedules all activities for the 2010 timetable based information from Data collection systems.

Advise Student Centre of any changes to subject offerings

Provide advice to timetable contacts in relation to any late subject offerings.

Fri 02 Oct

DRAFT TIMETABLE PUBLISHED (STAFF ONLY)

  • The Draft 2010 Timetable will be published to staff only

Review timetable and advise Teaching Staff to review relevant subjects.

Advise the Timetable office of change requests related to timetables

Review scheduling of relevant subjects.

Advise your timetable contact of any changes that are required

Mon 12 Oct

LAST DAY FOR SUBMISSION OF NEW CHANGE REQUESTS TO TIMETABLE

  • Requests for changes after this date are subject to restrictions

Ensure that teaching staff are aware of this deadline and have submitted change requests

Ensure that change requests are submitted by this date.

Fri 23 Oct

2010 FINAL TIMETABLE PUBLISHED (STUDENTS AND STAFF)

  • The 2010 Timetable will be published for both staff and students.

Work through outstanding change requests with Teaching staff, Student Centre and Timetabling Office up until this date.

Work through outstanding change requests up to this date with your Timetable contact.
