Undergraduates

Academic Advice Day: Monday 21 July
Most undergraduate students are required to attend Academic Advice Day (AAD) for information about their course and possible subject choices. International students also receive vital briefings about health, safety and visas at AAD.

Where do I go for AAD?
AAD is held on the Parkville Campus. Access information on how to get to Parkville and a campus map (available in several languages) online.

How do I get my AAD brochure?
If you are an Australian student you will be sent a detailed AAD brochure with your enrolment pack, which will inform you of which sessions you need to attend, including the lecture theatre location.

If you are an international student you will receive the AAD brochure at the International Student Briefing on Monday 21 July 2008.

You can also download a copy of the Academic Advice Day brochure here.

What are 'breadth' subjects?

Download a presentation from Academic Advice Day, explaining breadth subjects and options (Powerpoint 1.3MB)

Your AAD Brochure answers the following questions:

Is short term accommodation available for AAD?
International students and their families planning their arrival for AAD should visit the International Student Services website for free airport reception and temporary accommodation booking assistance.

What if I need accommodation in Melbourne?
Student Housing Services will run an information session that will explore the variety of housing options available to students in Melbourne. The session will highlight issues that students should consider when choosing their housing options, and give tips on how best to organise each option. The legal paperwork and procedures required when starting a tenancy will also be explained. Students and parents are encouraged to come along and ask questions.

International and interstate students can apply for free airport reception and temporary accommodation booking assistance with International Student Services.

If you are in a course with fixed subjects, you do not have to attend AAD. You will need to ensure you have completed all steps on your Enrolment Instruction Sheet. See the Administrative Enrolment section of this website.
