Orientation
Get started. Get involved. Get connected.
At the University of Melbourne, we understand that students who are informed and prepared early have the best chance of settling in and succeeding. We consider Orientation to be an essential step in the academic and personal journey of our students, and expect all new students to attend. It is an opportunity for us to welcome and induct students as members of the University community.
Orientation introduces you to campus life, to people, to new ways of teaching and learning and to the multitude of resources and support available at the University of Melbourne.
Whether you are someone who has been to uni before, someone starting study later in life, someone coming straight from school, an international student or a resident of Melbourne, Orientation has many important things to offer you. It kickstarts a new and exciting phase of your academic career and your life at University.
Orientation gives you a taste of the rich campus experiences to come during your time at Melbourne. You can discover new interests, join clubs and societies, explore ways of maintaining a study-life-work balance, find out about what your student association has to offer and visit the sport and recreation facilities.
There are uniquely designed Orientation programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
