Transition Forum
The Transition Forum aims to promote and support transition initiatives across the University by creating a space where academic and professional staff can come together to discuss current practice and future developments. It is an amalgamation of two groups formerly known as the Academic Transition Working Group (ATWG) and the Student Support Transition Group (SSTG) and is chaired by Associate Professor Dawn Gleeson (Genetics - Faculty of Science).
The Transition Forum has historically focussed on the first year experience, i.e. students making the transition from seconday school to first year university. However in response to the implementation of the Melbourne Model we are widening our focus to encompass a variety of transitions, including the transition to first year, through the year levels, to graduate study and the transition out of university.
The Transition Forum meets up to four times per academic year and comprises representatives from Faculties, Graduate Schools, student service areas and student associations.
