“The best aspect of participating in the Extension program was attaining an understanding of how university life works, engaging in the many university clubs or groups and establishing new friendships with other students in parallel circumstances. I also enjoyed the Extension program because it allowed me to use the University resources to compliment my other studies in VCE.”

Roshni Govindaraj completed Extension Program Accounting in 2006 and is now enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne.

“I’m studying a Bachelor of commerce part time and doing a cadetship with KPMG. The Extension Program means that I can now complete two additional subjects as I have already completed the first year accounting subjects. I chose Melbourne Uni as it is Australia’s most prestigious uni. On a personal level, I love the architecture and atmosphere of the Uni.”

James Papa completed Extension Program Mathematics in 2006 and is now studying a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery/Medical Science at the University of Melbourne. James received a Premier’s VCE High Achiever Award in 2006.

The Extension Program gave me an insight into higher level mathematics and the learning environment was collaborative rather than competitive. Keep in mind that Year 12 subjects take priority but at the same time utilise the benefits that accompany the Extension Program."

Emily Hickey completed Extension Program Philosophy in 2006 and is now enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne.

“By far the best aspect of participating in the Extension Program was the academic challenge. It was so exciting to be studying first and foremost out of true enjoyment and interest in a topic. Study what you love learning about, and study because you love learning it. The Extension Program can help you keep the bigger picture in mind – where you want to be in your life. It’s a huge motivation to keep going.”
