In addition to the eligibility criteria detailed above, Extension Program Music students
must possess exceptional ability, well above the Faculty of Music's entrance audition standard
(usually a B at AMEB Grade 7). Examples of exceptional achievement used as selection criteria include:
Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from their music teacher outlining their aptitude
and achievements. If the letter of recommendation indicates that the applicant is of an appropriate
standard, the applicant will be invited to an audition at the Faculty of Music in late November/early December.
Successful audition applicants, who also achieve the required B+ average grades in their other
studies, will be offered a place in the Extension Program. Applications for Extension Program Music close on Wednesday 31 October 2007.
