Accounting Reports and Analysis and Accounting Transactions and Analysis

 

Introduction

An accounting specialisation helps students understand the financial structure of organisations and to produce and analyse financial information. Accounting gives students the diverse skills necessary to function effectively in the complex world of business and government. Modern accounting requires practitioners to have a sound technical, analytical and interpretive skills and be able to utilise information technology in an accounting context.

Career Opportunities

Graduates with an accounting major are in demand by accounting firms in public practice, as well as by corporations and government organisations.

VCE Prerequisites

Completion of Accounting 3/4 in Year 11; or enrolment in the same in Year 12 after completion of Accounting 1/2. Students must obtain an A/A+ average in Accounting, and a B+ average across non prerequisite subjects.

All classes are taught at the University of Melbourne.
