Student Clubs Application

Student Club Bookings of Central Spaces

As a representative of a student club, you can book a "Central" teaching space under the following conditions:

  • Your club is affiliated with the student union;
  • You are the president, vice president, secretary or treasurer of that club. Other club members are unable to book venues on behalf of the club executives;
  • Your club is willing to bear any Building Supervision Costs. These charges only apply for weekday bookings that finish after 5pm, or any weekend bookings;
  • Your club is willing to bear any Venue Rental Costs. These charges only apply if attendees at your event are requested to pay any entry or registration fee;
  • Your club is willing to bear any Extra Cleaning Costs. Cleaning charges apply if you request extra cleaning before your event.

Please note that bookings for lunchtime events (1:00-2:15pm) during semester are not to be made through the Venue Hirings office. All bookings set to run in this period should instead be made at the Student Union information desk.

Access to audio visual equipment in theatres is via a ‘LEC’ key.
‘LEC’ keys can be loaned from the Baillieu library or ERC to University students with loaning rights (and a booking in a central teaching space) for a period of 2 hours

More information on the types of rooms available for bookings on campus, and the services provided in relation to room hire can be found under "General Information".

A detailed explanation of the roles and responsibilities of all parties in relation to the booking of University facilities can be found in University of Melbourne Venue Hiring Policy and Procedures [PDF, 36KB]
