External Bookings

External clients can book all centrally allocated teaching spaces when they are not being used for University classes. More information on the types of rooms available for hire on campus, and the services provided in relation to room hire can be found under General Information. Costs

All external bookings attract a modest charge, based on the type of room that you hire, and the duration of your booking. There is no extra charge for the usage of Audio Visual equipment present in the room.

Additional charges will apply if you request the services of an Audio Visual technician, or if extra cleaning or equipment is requested for your event.

Special Booking Procedures

Please be aware that some venues on campus (notably Arts Hall, Wilson Hall and the Sidney Myer Asia Centre theatre) have special booking procedures.

Venue Hire Fee Waiver

It is possible to have the Venue Hire fee fully or partially waived by the University. Fee waivers may be granted for certain events consistent with the University’s teaching, research and community development objectives. In general, only events that meet these criteria and are run by non-profit or charity organisations are successful in their applications. If you would like to apply for a fee waiver, please check the relevant box when making your online booking. The Venue Hire office will then forward you further information on how to apply.

Please note: the venue hire wavier applies to room rental only, and does not include costs in relation to building supervision, extra equipment hire, extra cleaning, or any other charges associated with your booking.
