Specialised VenuesThese are the centrally allocated venues on campus that have certain restrictions associated with their use. If you would like to make a booking in the venues listed below you will need to provide extra information in relation to your event. Arts HallArts Hall, located in the Old Arts Building on Parkville campus has a capacity of 150 examination style. The Hall is predominately used for University of Melbourne examinations. Outside of these bookings, the hall is available to be used for other examinations by departments and external groups. The hall is only used for events other than examinations in special circumstances.
Sidney Myer Asia Centre Carrillo Gantner Theatre and Exhibition SpaceBookings in the Sidney Myer Asia Centre Carrillo Gantner theatre and Exhibition Space require the approval of the Director of the Asia Institute before they can be finalised. Any booking requests for these venues should still be made by through the Venue Hirings team. If the venue(s) is available at that time, the Venue Hirings team will place a tentative booking and forward details of the booking to the Asia Institute for their consideration. As a rule only booking requests that have an 'Asian Flavour' are generally given final approval by the Asia Institute. Please note that all other bookings in central teaching spaces in the building are not subject to approval by the Asia Institute. Wilson HallLocated in the middle of Parkville Campus, Wilson Hall has a capacity of 1300 theatre style and 450 examination style. The Hall is predominantly used for University of Melbourne events such as Conferring Ceremonies, examinations and as an enrolment venue. When the hall is not being used for University of Melbourne events it is available to be used by other Departments of the University or for hire by external groups. |
